Will the music industry be saved? In my eyes, it never was in danger of being lost as, I am not in the industry and do not really care what the future of the labels is as long as I got some good tunes. The true artist will always create regardless of industry. Besides this whole time the only for the artist was lack of syndication channels (which is not a threat anymore).
Even in years past, the cheddar was made (by the artist) through concerts and appearances, not record sales. It is great to see the labels entering second life and leveraging this relatively low cost means of generating buzz (and one day revenue).
On top of all that, it is pretty friggin cool!
